Throughput of Wireless Relay Networks with Interference Processing

چکیده
Consider a wireless relay network, where all nodes except the source and destination act as relays. The problem of evaluating the capacity for a source-destination pair in this network and determining the corresponding optimal transmission strategy have attracted considerable research attention recently. However, even for a single relay, complete solutions are still unknown. A popular method to obtain partial results is to fix the relay strategy. In this paper, we consider a situation where relays adopt the decode-and-forward approach with the possibility of network coding. Also, the nodes can receive information from multiple transmitters simultaneously. This is accomplished by allowing physical layer interference processing at nodes. This processing yields increased sum rate when compared to interference avoidance or treating interference as noise. A linear optimization model is proposed to determine the maximum achievable throughput with interference processing. Numerical evaluation done on some example networks shows significant throughput gains.

Interference-Aware and Cluster Based Multicast Routing in Multi-Radio Multi-Channel Wireless Mesh Networks
Multicast routing is one of the most important services in Multi Radio Multi Channel (MRMC) Wireless Mesh Networks (WMN). Multicast routing performance in WMNs could be improved by choosing the best routes and the routes that have minimum interference to reach multicast receivers. In this paper we want to address the multicast routing problem for a given channel assignment in WMNs. The channels...
متن کاملPerformance Analysis of Wireless Cooperative Networks with Iterative Incremental Relay Selection
In this paper, an iterative incremental relay selection (IIRS) scheme is considered for wireless cooperative networks in order to increase the reliability of transmission. Different from the conventional incremental relay selection which incrementally selects a best relay for only one iteration; the IIRS scheme iteratively applies the incremental relaying and relay selection processes. To evalu...

There are many recent interests on cooperative communication (CC) in wireless networks. Despite the large capacity gain of CC in small wireless networks, CC can result in severe interference in large networks and even degraded throughput. The aim of this chapter is to concurrently exploit multi-radio and multi-channel (MRMC) and CC technique to combat co-channel interference and improve the per...

Designing wireless sensor networks should meet appropriate parameters such as quality of service (QoS) defined by different users. The variable physical conditions of the environment, processing and transmission power limitations and limited communication capabilities are the most important obstacles that influence QoS parameters such as throughput, delay, reliability and network lifetime. The ...

In wireless sensor networks, data transmission reliability is a fundamental challenge due to several physical constraints such as interference, power consumption, and environmental effects. In current wireless sensor implementations, a single bit error requires retransmitting the entire frame. This incurs extra processing overhead and power consumption, especially for large frames. Frame fragme...
